Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to participate by judging or stewarding at the third annual Hammerdown Brewcup! This year we have over 320 entries this year which requires a lot of help to get each entry judged.


Here is some important information for the day.



Judge and Steward Registration: 8:30AM - 9:15AM (Please try to arrive on time so we have time to make sure we have everyone assigned to judge and steward present.)

Breakfast: 8:30AM - 9:15AM

Round 1 judging start – 0915AM

Lunch 12:15PM - 1:00PM

Round 2 judging start - 1:15PM

Happy hour start: 5:00PM

Awards Ceremony: 6:30PM

Raffle: Shortly after the awards ceremony completes.



Please be considerate of judging by not wearing any strong perfume or cologne as it can impact the perception of the ability to judge the beer.

ANY strong smells at the table can affect the judging at your table and surrounding tables throughout the day.

Try to avoid spicy foods and strongly flavored drinks or food that may lessen your ability to accurately judge the beers presented the morning of the competition.

We are here to accurately judge the beers entered, but also to help those who may have little or no experience judging and stewarding increase their knowledge. We kindly ask that you treat everyone involved with the competition with respect and courtesy. There is a lot that goes into executing a competition of this size and every role is important!

Have fun! We have worked hard to create an event that everyone will enjoy.

We think we have a great competition day planned and have some great perks lined up for everyone who comes out to help us. As a judge or steward we will be giving you the following:

- A selected piece of glassware
- A ticket for a free pint
- One raffle ticket (someone must be present with the ticket to win)
- A bracelet for discounted core Braxton styles all night


We will be holding the judging in the Braxton Loft above the taproom. The entrance is located to the left of the taproom entrance if you are facing the building and will be marked. You may have heard that there is construction happening currently at Braxton to complete the new roof top space. There is also some construction that has been happening in the loft, but we will have the space cleaned up for the day and don’t expect any issues or interruptions to judging. After judging has completed, the space will be open including the bar, for your enjoyment throughout the happy hour, awards, raffle and early evening.



There are multiple lots within a few blocks of Braxton. The most convenient will be the lot on the corner of 7th Street and Washington. Parking varies depending on the time spent, so make sure to pay as they do ticket. As the taproom will be open for the day we ask that you leave the spots directly in front of the brewery for the patrons visiting Saturday.
